That I, That I
03:31
|
|||
My feet are boiling, I am warming up
and I’m trying not to break down
and I’m trying not to be overwhelmed at all the thoughts skipping round in my head
cause I can’t do anything about them
them, them, them, them
I cleaned my room today, I’m like an adult grown up
and I’ve even cleaned the carpet with the machine that sucks the rubbish up
and with the clearing of the chaos comes a clarity of mind
if but for only a moment in time
Time, time, time, time
I’ve realised that I, that I, that I must die
But now is not that time
Oh I’ve always been a fatalistic child
Child, child, child, child
I’ve always been a child
There has to be a way that I can live my life and love it
and not be ruled by fear which ensures the dreaded outcome of it
and there has to be a way where I can find magic in my day
and entice it over to come and play
To play, to play, to play, to play
I’ve realised that I, that I, that I must die
But now is not that time
Oh I’ve always been a fatalistic child
I’ve realised that life, that life, that life can pass you by
But now I’ve woken up, I am awake and I am ready to participate

My Seafaring Man
03:35
|
|||
Hello sailor
Welcome to the land of legs
Your heart is the same colour as my fingernails blue
Ice cold, from the cold
Hello sailor
And now your hearts gone away from you
It’s lost to the sea and a fish tried to eat it but spat it out
It spat it out
So shall I cut your hair
And shall I shave your beard
And then dance with you till dawn
Cause today is February
and you’ll be gone by June
Oh I always wanted a seafaring man like you
Today is February
and you’ll be gone by June
To reclaim that heart the sea has taken from you
Hello sailor
A giddy smile, a tipsy wink
You belong to a crowd that I know nothing about
No nothing at all
Not the handshake for sure
So hello sailor
From whence you came surely you will go
But I’m not sure that differs from all of us with bones
You to the water, us to the sky
So shall I clean your clothes
and shall I wash your face
and then kiss you strong till dawn
Cause today is February
and you’ll be gone by June
Oh I always wanted a seafaring man like you
Today is February
and you’ll be gone by June
To reclaim that heart the sea has taken from you
Today is February
and you’ll be long gone by June
You’ll be leaving so fast you’ll forget I’ll be left here loving you
You’ll be a great story to tell
Adventure and love wrapped up in a sea-salty smell
and when i’m old and dying I’ll still be smiling about us

All a Flutter
03:49
|

You’re like wine with everything
that glisten of red that makes my heart sing
that heady feeling in the evening
So come kiss me on the lips
linger near
let me smell your aroma
So come kiss me on the lips
linger here
let me taste you
And roll around my tongue
roll around my tongue
roll around my tongue till I have picked up every part of you
Flushed and rosy cheeked
I can feel your effects on me
You’re influencing how my heart beats
And it’s all a flutter
You’re like wine with everything
When you stare me down I can’t but help take you in
Cause your smile is intoxicating
So come kiss me on the lips
linger near
let me inhale you
So come kiss me on the lips
linger here
let me drink you up
And roll around my tongue
roll around my tongue
roll around my tongue till I have picked up every part of you
Flushed and rosy cheeked
I can feel your effects on me
You’re influencing how my heart beats
And it’s all a flutter

To England
03:31

She said I’m looking out the window and I think I see France
And I thought, what’s France if I can’t see you
And as she penned her paper and flew over the seas
I sat at my desk listlessly
And I am restless
I’m so restless
Yes I am restless
I’m so restless
She scribbled down her day while on the bus home from the pub
Illegible lines I tried to decipher
The imagery constructed in my head so vividly
That I thought I could taste on my lips her cider
And I’m waiting for the day when
We don’t have to pen our hearts in
Loose pages of some refill
And hope the post makes it on time
Oh Mr, Mr postman
Take good care of my heart that I’m sending
It’s marked fragile and I must depend
On its safe arrival at the other end
She said i’m looking out the window and I think I see France
And I thought, what’s France if I can’t see you

Delicate Souls
02:49
|
|||
He sings a sweet song, I sit and stare
He’s alive and living, I sit and stare
I feel so connected, like I might even fit
It only lasts a minute so I’m trying to breathe it in
He dances bizarre, I can’t help but laugh
And when he plays the piano love gushes in my heart
I can feel everything, the ease and the weight
But nothing I do will make this moment stay
And here there is right, there is real, there is life
And the delicate souls are stronger
The delicate souls are stronger
The delicate souls are stronger
Than before....
He is eccentric and when he does speak
He seems to say those things I feel within the deep
The cosmos, the stars, they feel all aligned
As if this seat was fated for my find
He lifts his tee-shirt, I might have gasped
And tried to memorise that one little part
With balloons falling down, my lungs I emptied
For love had just overtaken me
And here there is right, there is real, there is life
And the delicate souls are stronger
The delicate souls are stronger
The delicate souls are stronger
Than before....
